Spatial audio is a term used by Apple to describe a 360-degree sound format that recreates a surround effect through even a tiny pair of earbuds. In 2021, Apple announced that various artists are providing this immersive version of their music to all subscribers.
What is Dolby Atmos Music?
Dolby is synonymous with high quality audio. They have been leaders in surround sound technology for many years and Dolby Atmos is not new to the cinema world. However, Dolby announced Dolby Atmos Music specifically for music artists to allow their technology to be used by both music creators and listeners. To date, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal have adopted Dolby Atmos to provide this form of Spatial Music, aka 3D Surround, aka Immersive.
